Zimbabwe 2015: Melissa Howell & Lori Allen

One of LEAP’s greatest opportunities in the mission field is to provide additional education to local medical professionals. This often includes our physicians and nurses speaking on relevant topics in various venues at our host countries.

This year in Zimbabwe, Melissa Howell, Nurse Practitioner (left, first photo), and Lori Allen, PACU nurse (right, first photo), provided lecture and teaching on the care of cleft patients to the hospital nursing staff from the operating theatre, pediatric floor, and pediatric ICU areas, along with the local nursing students. There were approximately 50 in attendance with other lecture series planned throughout the remainder of the week. The nurses and matrons were most appreciative of this needed teaching and training. Thank you, Melissa and Lori, for sharing your talents with these wonderful nurses.
