God brings people together in so many ways, and the baby hats that were delivered on Sunday is an example of his love.
Recently, in a campsite in Wisconsin, I met Mary “Jo” Fleming, an avid bird watcher, accomplished artist, and master gardener. During one of our conversations, I told Jo about my unsuccessful quest to crochet baby hats for my upcoming LEAP mission trip to Zimbabwe. She told me about her friend Susan Hazelwood, who knits hats for newborn babies at local Hospitals in Missouri. Jo contacted Susan, and Susan graciously sent 20 beautiful hand knitted caps to LEAP.
Our first day in Zimbabwe was a clinic, during which time we evaluate children for possible surgery. Several of our beautiful newborns went home with one of Susan’s knitted caps, proving once again that God bring people from around the world together.
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
